PPTP, local gateway, subnet routing.

I’m having trouble combining the use of a pptp VPN connection to a remote host while keeping connectivety to our local network.
I have found the tcp/ip option to not use a remote gateway and this solves the problem for about 50%.
I do have access to anything within the 192.168.x.x range while connected to the remote network. (shares, mail, sql, etc) However we have an ip telephony solution sitting on a different subnet (10.200.x.x) and this is unaccessible while connected with the remote host.
I have been Googling for results for well over 2 hours now but unfortanely have found no awnser to my dilemma yet. This will party be due to the fact i don’t quite know what to google for.
I have read things about changing the routing table with wich im slightly familliar but i have no idea what would need to be routed where and the context i should view this in.

I am quite new to the VPN connectivity world so please excuse any stupidities in my questioning.
